Over three days, we will slow down enough to notice. The feel of wet earth between our fingers, the shape of a mountain trail, the stories we carry, the things we make, and the things we might be ready to leave behind.
Clay will be our medium, but the retreat is really about paying attention.

The shelves are rarely empty. Some pieces are waiting for their first firing, others for glaze, and a few are simply drying by the window.
You'll usually find clay on the tables, tea somewhere nearby, and people working at different paces.
The studio changes with every season, but the rhythm stays much the same.
Lumière began as a place where I could slow down, make things with my hands, and share that feeling with others. Whether you're joining us for your very first afternoon with clay or returning to the wheel, I hope you leave feeling a little lighter than when you arrived.

Firing is a complex process and results can vary, glaze sticking, warping, cracking or kiln-furniture marks can happen. We take care while firing, but final outcomes cannot be guaranteed; the piece stays the maker's responsibility. All prices include 18% GST.
A slow, one-on-one course for anyone who wants to take clay further, as hobby or profession. Wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, firing, surface, and the theory of clay. Includes a lifetime mentorship with Harshita.
The course is by application - share a little about your intent, your goals, and where you are with clay today. Harshita reads each one personally and writes back within 2–3 days to confirm a schedule that fits your week.

Complete beginners who want a real, unhurried foundation. Returning makers who want to sharpen technique and build a small body of work. Anyone considering clay as a practice, side-craft or profession. No prior experience needed, only presence.
An average of 15–20 finished pieces that are food safe, microwave safe and dishwasher safe to Indian Ceramics Standard. Bisqued, glazed and fired (more if your forms run small; extras billed at studio firing rates). A working understanding of the wheel and hand-building. And a studio you can keep returning to.
I've never touched clay. Will I keep up?
Yes. Most people who take this course start from zero. Because it's 1:1, the pace is entirely yours, we won't move on until a technique feels settled in your hands.
Can I finish in less than a month, or stretch it longer?
Both are possible. Some finish in three intense weeks, others prefer six easier weeks. We'll shape the schedule together after your application.
Do I need to buy tools or materials separately?
No. Everything (clay, tools, glazes, firings, apron) is included in the fee. You only need to bring yourself.
What if I miss a session?
Life happens. Once your original calendar wraps up, we offer up to 2 makeup sessions to cover anything you missed, so you always finish the full 12.
What happens after the course ends?
You stay in touch. Lifetime mentorship means you can message Harshita anytime with a question, a photo of a piece, or a firing problem. You're always welcome back at the studio through our memberships or open studio passes.
Is the fee refundable?
The ₹5,000 registration fee holds your seat and isn't refundable, but it is transferable. You can move your start date once with reasonable notice or pass this opportunity to a friend/family member who might love to work with clay!

Yes, most people who walk in have never touched clay before. Our weekend experiences and the Month-Long Ceramics Course are built for beginners; we start from how to sit at the wheel and how to hold your hands.
Yes. Anything you make in an experience or as a member goes through bisque + glaze firing and comes home with you.
We work on 100% advance payment and don't offer refunds. You are welcome to reschedule once with at least 6 hours of notice; anything later than that, or a no-show, is treated as a used seat.
Clay is a slow craft. Drying, bisque firing, glazing and glaze firing together take about 3–4 weeks from the day you make a piece. We'll message you as soon as your work is ready for pickup.
Yes. All experiences, Kids Club sessions and single day passes are booked in advance so we can hold a wheel or a spot at the table for you. Walk-ins are not guaranteed a seat.
We prefer studio pickup so we can pack and hand things over carefully, but yes, we can courier your pieces anywhere in India at actual packing + shipping cost. Fragile work travels at your risk.
